This pic was sent to me as a reminder of how badd ass Peter Steele was/is. The mayor of Brooklyn, NY. I remember clearly Type O's first show as the newly named TON, from their short lived project REPULSION (no relation to the grind gods). When i first heard them live i was blown away. Never had i heard such heavy, dilapidated sounds mesh so well with keyboard ambiance. To say Petrus was one of a kind is easy. To say he was an original is not enough. Ave J and East 15th Street and Midwood served as stomping grounds for Josh Silver and Pete. Flatbush and Kings Hway were also popular hangouts for the guys also. He represented Brooklyn like no other entertainer, say for Biggie. Or Jay-Z. Rest In Power Mayor.
