A short video clip of Mike "Cowhead" Calta interviewing STONE TEMPLE PILOTS frontman Scott Weiland during this past Thursday's (October 7) edition of "The Cowhead Show" can be viewed below. During the chat — which, according to TMZ.com, was filled with long pauses — Weiland sounded so bewildered that the DJ asked, "Are we drinking today?" to which Scott replied that he was "completely sober."
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS recently announced that they were "re-routing" — that is, postponing — all tour dates until October 8. The postponed dates began with the September 21 gig in El Paso, Texas, and included shows in Lubbock on September 22 and Corpus Christi on September 27. Some of the shows were rescheduled for late October.
No official reason has been offered for the postponements, but a review by Houston Press indicated that Weiland "seemed off mentally, a little too meandering and talkative" at the band's September 19 concert in Woodlands, Texas. STP also reportedly took the stage an hour later than scheduled.
Weiland has seemed "out of it" or even intoxicated at a number of shows since STP reunited in the summer of 2008, and has appeared late several times.
He was recently accused of lip-synching in concert, a charge he vehemently denied. The band has been touring behind its self-titled sixth studio album, which was released earlier this year. Weiland's problems with drugs and alcohol were a major factor in STONE TEMPLE PILOTS' breakup in 2002, and also played a role in his turbulent four-year stint with VELVET REVOLVER
Fuck him already, how many more millions of dollars does that band have to lose by dealing with this asshole?
